Privacy Policy: Desktop Dungeons

This privacy policy governs your use of Desktop Dungeons (“DD”), a game for mobile devices by QCF Design PTY (“QCF Design”).

What information does the game collect and how is it used?

User-Provided Information

If you decide to use the DD cloud save feature to store your save files across platforms (you can save your progress across multiple devices and operating systems – it’s pretty cool!) DD has to collect and keep your (real) email address as an account identifier.  We do not collect your name or ask for any other identifying information. We will also use this email address for basic transactional emails, like password resets.

If you use an Android device to create your DD cloud save account for the first time, we may also check your Google Play account to verify that you really did purchase the game.

If you do not use the cloud save feature of DD, the game does not collect – or ask you for – any of the above information. Your saved games and progress will still be stored, but only locally on your device, with no identifying information attached.

Automatically Collected Information

DD collects simple usage analytics automatically – things like play session length or other game events (death!) to help us improve the gameplay experience (too much death!). If the game crashes, DD may transmit diagnostic crash information to us with its last breath, again so that we can make things better.

DD does not collect device-specific information such as IP addresses, unique device IDs / IMEI numbers, operating system versions or any other apps or games you may have on your device.

Does the game collect any location information from the device?

Nope.

Can third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the game?

Nope, unless

  • QCF Design is compelled to share our cloud save account database with law enforcement, as enforced by a legal process.
  • QCF Design or DD is purchased by, or merges with, another company. In that case we will make sure that your data is safely transferred and then maintained by the new owning entity and that this privacy agreement is honoured by them.

How do I opt out?

You can stop all collection of new information by not playing DD on your device. Uninstallation is not necessary as the game does not collect data in the background, but we will understand if you do that to manage the urge to keep playing.

We do not and will not use your information to send you marketing material. Any emails we do send you will be transactional (such as password reset requests).

Retaining and Managing Your Information

We will keep your User-Provided Information for as long as you use DD and for a reasonable time after that. If you’d like us to delete this information, please contact us at info@QCFdesign.com and we will respond in a reasonable time frame. Please note that if you do request this deletion, the cloud save feature not work anymore. The game will keep working fine on each of your devices, but it will only save your progress on the device you made that progress on.

We will keep Automatically Collected Information for up to 24 months and thereafter may store it in aggregate.

Children

We do not use DD to knowingly solicit data from, or market to, children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided us with information without their consent, they should contact us at info@QCFdesign.com. We will delete any such information from our systems within a reasonable time frame.

Security

We care about your privacy. We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the information we process and maintain – for example, only authorised employees of QCF Design can access the database. Please be aware that, while we work hard to maintain reasonable security for this information, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy here. You should check this Policy regularly for any changes – by continuing to use DD, you are deemed to approve of all changes.

Your Consent

By using DD, you consent to our processing your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
